El profesor Gijs Versteegen dirije en colaboración con Stijn Bussels y Walter Melion la obra Magnificence in the 17th Century. Performing Splendour in Catholic and Protestant Contexts, recientemente publicada por la editorial Brill. En esta obra los profesores Labrador Arroyo y Hortal Muñoz presentan en su trabajo “The magnificence of the Royal Household and Royal Sites: the case of the Spanish Monarchy”, el significado de los reales sitios en la construcción de la magnificencia real en los siglos XVI y XVII y el profesor Versteegen en su estudio «Educating Magnificence: Juan Eusebio Nieremberg on Ascesis and Splendour in his Manual for the Reales Estudios of the Colegio Imperial at Madrid» analiza el Manual de señores y príncipes de Juan Eusebio Nieremberg.
